Invitation sizes
The standard invitation is 5×7 inches in an A7 envelope. Here's every common size, its matching envelope, and how many you can cut from a sheet of paper.

In the UK and Europe, A5 (148×210 mm) in a C5 envelope and A6 (105×148 mm) in a C6 envelope are the everyday equivalents. A 5×7 card also fits a C6/C5-sized “5×7” envelope sold by most UK stationers.
How many invitations fit on a sheet?
Printing several cards per sheet and trimming saves paper and money. Pick a card and a paper size; the diagram shows the best layout, the trim marks, and the paper you throw away.
Laid out 1 across × 2 down, turned sideways. Home printers can't print right to the edge, so keep at least ¼ in (6 mm) clear around the sheet, which the diagram already does.

Choosing a size
5×7 in is the default because it fits a standard A7 envelope, has room for full wedding wording, and mails at the standard letter rate in the US as long as it's rectangular and not too thick. 4¼×5½ in (A2) suits response cards and casual parties. Square cards look modern but cost extra postage in the US because machines can't sort them. Tea-length (4×9 in) cards fit a #10 business envelope and suit programmes and menus.
